A tap is a press shorter than a quarter of a second; holding longer opens the party cursor instead. Switching works in and out of battle. See Party.

Shared buttons. X is Trade (or another second option) only while an NPC's prompt is showing it; otherwise it is Party Tactics. While the Party Tactics list is open, RB / LB step through the members instead of cycling targets. See Party tactics and Minimap.

In menus

Enter works on menu buttons because Apply (see Install) set CommonUI's Common Button Accept Key Handling to TriggerClick in your project's Config/DefaultGame.ini. If Enter does nothing, see Enter doesn't press menu buttons.

Where the bindings live

Asset Contains
Input/Mappings/IMC_XenoCore XenoCore's actions: targeting, interact, palette, party switch, menu, camera, quest tracker
/Game/Input/Mappings/IMC_Default Lyra's movement, look and jump
Input/InputData_XenoCore Which input tag each action sends to the ability system

To rebind a key, open the mapping context, find the action's row and change its key. To add a new action with its own button prompt, see Add an input action with a button prompt.

Fails silently: a rebound key and its on-screen prompt

Some prompts (the Party Tactics hint, the quest tracker toggle, tutorial cards) draw their glyph from a row of UserInterface/Foundation/DT_XenoCore_Actions, not from the mapping context. Rebinding the key in IMC_XenoCore alone leaves those prompts showing the old key. Change the matching row's keyboard and gamepad keys in DT_XenoCore_Actions as well.
