Result: reviving costs what you want and brings an ally back as healthy as you want. A refused revive says what you want, the party recovers between fights at the rate you want, and losing a battle looks and sounds the way you want.
Before you start¶
- Read Party Gauge, downed and revive for what each piece does.
Steps¶
All of these are on one asset.
- Open
Characters/Party/BP_XenoCore_Partyand select the class defaults. - The price. Under XenoCore › Party › Revive, set Revive Bar Cost. 1 is XC1. 0 makes reviving free, and the prompt then never refuses.
- The comeback. Set Revive Health Fraction. 0.3 stands the ally up at 30% of max HP; XC3 uses about 0.15.
- The reach. Set Revive Range in cm. Keep it small (around 110) so only the body under the leader's feet is offered in a crowded fight.
- The refusal. Set Revive Refused Text to your line, for example
Need a full gauge bar. Clear it to show no line. Pick Revive Refused Sound, or clear it for silence. - The end of a fight. Under XenoCore › Party › Battle, set Battle Over Grace: the seconds with no enemy chasing the party before the downed get up at 1 HP.
- Recovery between fights. Under XenoCore › Party › Recovery, set Out Of Battle Regen
Per Second, the fraction of max HP every member recovers each second once the fight is over
(
0.1= 10%;0turns it off), and Out Of Battle Regen Delay, the seconds before it starts. Benched members recover too. Fleeing does not count as the fight being over. - The defeat. Under XenoCore › Party › Wipe › Defeat:
- Defeat Text is the word on screen.
- Defeat Time Dilation: 0.35 is slow motion; 1.0 turns it off.
- Defeat Saturation: 0.15 drains nearly all colour; 1.0 turns it off.
- Defeat Sound is the sting. Clear it for silence.
- Defeat Banner Class is the banner widget. Clear it for no banner at all.
- The downed HUD row. Open
UserInterface/HUD/W_XenoCore_HUDLayout. Select each party row. Under XenoCore › Party › Downed, adjust Downed Portrait Tint and Downed Text Colour, or untick Grey When Downed. - Compile and save.
Test it¶
Press Play in Maps/L_XenoCore_Gym, draw your weapon on a minion, then:
- Type
XenoGaugeAdd -300in the console to empty the gauge, thenXenoDownMember 1. The companion kneels and their row greys out. - Stand on them and press A. Your refusal line appears over them, the gauge shakes and you hear the refusal sound.
- Type
XenoGaugeAdd 100and press A again. One bar empties and the ally stands at your Revive Health Fraction. - Type
XenoWipeParty. You see your defeat beat, then the party wakes at the respawn point. - Out of battle, type
XenoHurtParty 0.3. Every row drops to 30% and then climbs back at your Out Of Battle Regen Per Second.
If it doesn't work¶
Fails silently: no prompt at all over a downed ally
The prompt only appears over a downed party member that the player is not driving, and only within Revive Range. Stand closer. Your own downed body never offers a revive.
Fails silently: the ally got up by themselves
Nothing was chasing the party, so the battle ended and the downed rose at 1 HP. That is the design. To test a revive, keep a minion engaged.
Fails silently: the refusal shows no line
Revive Refused Text is empty, or the press came from AI. Only a player-made refusal is announced.
